Dear Members of the Phorms Frankfurt School Community, Friends and Sponsors,

It was at the beginning of the school year 2007-2008 when the curtain rose for Phorms Frankfurt School. Under the guidance of Steve Mear, the school welcomed the first students and instructors in the Titania Theater, since the Fürstenbergerstrasse building had not been finalized in time.

This 2016-2017 school year, the Phorms Frankfurt School successfully celebrates its 10th anniversary within a competitive environment of numerous private schools.

In 2007, there were only about 90 students enrolled, taught bilingually in the immersion method by a few teachers. Currently, we are responsible for almost 800 students, ranging from the youngest PhorMinis to the oldest in first qualification phase of secondary II in the Gymnasium. The students are assisted by a team of more than 100 teachers and employees, who are dedicated to provide intercultural experiences on a daily basis.

The memories of the challenges faced when planning the Taunus Campus stay very vividly on our minds. Mobile classrooms opened their doors on a sports field at Steinbach for two years in the Summer of 2009. The new school building, which has been home to the Taunus Campus since the school year 2011-2012, was successfully constructed in eight months.

The growth of the school makes it possible to have extensions at both sites that have already been started at each respective campus. A major extension of the Taunus Campus will include a large auditorium – without interior pillars. The City Campus will expand into the area formerly held by the Post Office.

Hopefully you will enjoy reading the written contributions to the anniversary and participate in the three major events linked to the anniversary: the panel discussion with Elmar Theveßen on March 23rd, the academic Ceremony on June 23rd, the Summer Fest at the Taunus Campus on June 29th and related testimonials.

    With Kind Regards,

    Michael Gehrig
    Former Head of School

10 years of Phorms Frankfurt! Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this fine anniversary.

For institutions that have devoted themselves to the complex topics of education and instruction, it is to be considered an anniversary rather young in years. In particular, this is due to the fact that the development rate of the year levels determines the progress of institutions in the educational field. Consequently further advances and course corrections require a correspondingly long time. Nevertheless, the fact that it has succeeded after only 10 years to be seen as a school, having a very good reputation, a strong influx and an excellent future prospective is due to the impact of all the pedagogical and administrative employees. Hence, I would like to thank the whole team, under the leadership of Michael Gehrig, Head of School, for their outstanding performance.

    Warm regards,

    Dr. Carsten Breyde
Executive Director of the Phorms Education SE
