Julia, Backhaus, Managing Director
Julia Backhaus studied communications, law and politics at the Technical University Dresden. Afterwards, she worked as account manager for a brand consulting firm. Julia Backhaus joined Phorms in the beginning of 2010, and worked as head of marketing. Since 2012 she is the business manager for the Phorms Schools in Frankfurt.
Michael Gehrig, Head of School Frankfurt
Michael Gehrig studied English/American Studies, Politics and Education in Mainz and Texas. He has taught English, History, Politics and Business Studies and has been head of the Anna Schmidt School in Frankfurt/Main. Alongside his work as a teacher, he was responsible for the international activities within the scope of the UNESCO Project School Programme.
Gabi Sistig, Business Manager
Gabi Sistig studied English and French at the Faculty of Applied Linguistics and Cultural Sciences of the University Mainz in Germersheim as well as Business Administration at the Open University Hagen. For many years, she had leading positions in the financial administration of projects of the German development cooperation in Germany as well as abroad. She joined Phorms Frankfurt in 2015.
Colin Mortensen, Dep. Head of School, Head of Primary School and Reception
Colin Mortensen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Hispanic Studies and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. He is in the final stages of his Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership. He worked in the United States, Spain and Jordan before joining Phorms Frankfurt as the Head of Primary and Reception in 2014. He has since been promoted to the Deputy Head of Whole School position.
George Betts, Extra Curricular Coordinator
George Betts is originally from England and holds a degree in Occupational Therapy from Oxford Brookes University. He previously worked in the field of vocational rehabilitation, incorporating the therapeutic use of activity before joining Phorms Frankfurt in 2009. George Betts worked initially for Phorms as a teaching assistant and from 2011 has held the role of Extra Curricular Coordinator.
