On 12 November, the children of the Early Years and Year 1 at Taunus Campus celebrated the traditional St Martin’s Festival together with their families and teachers. In the weeks leading up to the event, the children had crafted their own lanterns during lessons and proudly carried them throughout the evening.
The celebration began in the school courtyard, where everyone joined in singing classic St Martin’s songs. For the first time, the singing was accompanied by a brass class from the secondary school, adding a festive and atmospheric musical touch.
The lantern procession then set off and wound its way through the Steinbach forest. The children were accompanied not only by the brass players, but also by the Steinbach Youth Fire Brigade, who lit the way with torches. This created a magical and memorable setting for all who took part.
Back on the school grounds, each child received a traditional pastry Martin’s goose. Warm drinks and hot dogs were also served, offering a cosy moment for the community to gather and enjoy the evening together. A particular highlight for the children were the fire engines on display and the large bonfire that brought the celebration to a glowing close.
A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who contributed to making this special evening possible and creating a wonderful celebration filled with light, music and togetherness.
