A mighty Tree convinces the Jury

Class 7a of the Taunus Campus wins first prize of the art competition "Fairy Tales, Myths, Stories" of the Hochtaunuskreis.

"When a picture and a head meet, something interesting usually happens," says jury member Hans Helmut Rupp at the opening of the exhibition. Well, the work "The story of the dark side of the forest," with which the class 7a of the Taunus Campus is represented at the exhibition "Art from Schools 2019, Fairy Tales, Myths, Stories," is not a picture, but a huge, expansive installation from many different materials. But it obviously offers everything for an interesting discussion, because the installation is awarded a first prize among the exhibited works of twelve schools of the Hochtaunuskreis during the Opening Ceremony. The group of art teacher Miriam Marty, who has initiated and accompanied the class project, now has 500 Euros at their disposal for an art workshop of free choice. The prize was awarded by the Johann-Isaac-von Gerning-Foundation of the Hochtaunuskreis.

7A has taken the title of the exhibition "fairy tales, myths, stories," seriously: At The center of their work is an old tree, which forms an eye-catcher in the largest of the three exhibition rooms of the "Galerie Artlantis" in Bad Homburg. Hanging in its Branches there are portraits of forest creatures, partly grimly looking, partly friendly. And one cries with sorrow even bitter tears made of forest fruits.

The Key to all the magical fairytale Hustle and bustle can be found next to the tree trunk: On a reading desk from Birch Branches lies a narrow book: "The story of the dark side often he forest." There, visitors to the exhibition can read the Story of Princess Flora and Prince Draco; about his enchantment to the Beast Chewbacca and also from Albu Betulix – the wise and prophesying tree.

Not only the Jury convinces the 7a with its Installation: Throughout the Evening albu Betulix is surrounded by Visitors, the Work is praised, discussed, discussed. And this is perhaps even the Most Beautiful Thing for the brilliant Prizewinners from the 7a: To have been Part of a real, classic opening party with their impressive artwork – with everything that goes with it: Drinks, cool Jazz and an interested Audience.
