Democracy thrives on the participation of its citizens, and where better to learn this important lesson than in school? On October 4, 2023, the students of the Gymnasium am Taunus Campus had the unique opportunity to experience the basics of our democracy firsthand. In an exciting project, prepared in the politics and ethics classes, the junior election was held for the state election in Hesse. The students were enthusiastic and motivated to get involved in this democratic process.

Behind the scenes: Commitment and preparation
Preparations for this exciting event began in class. The students intensively studied the election programs of the various parties. This was not only an opportunity to deepen political education, but also to develop a deeper understanding of the political processes and the importance of electoral participation.
Special thanks are due to the election helpers from Class 8a and the introductory phase. With great commitment, they designed the election invitations and supported the "citizens" at the polling station. These young people not only showed their interest in democracy, but also contributed to the smooth running of the junior election.

Now the wait for the results of the junior election began, while at the same time preparations for the real state election on October 8 were in full swing. The excitement was palpable, and the students anxiously followed how the results were developing.
