Today: Corona cakes - (breathing) mask ball on the baking tray
Category: Recipe
Contents:
Here comes - in keeping with the face mask debate - the corona version of the classic "Americans". Guaranteed yeast-free, so you don't have to worry about the ingredients, but guaranteed to be delicious! Have fun baking, decorating and: Eat up!
Ingredients: 100 g margarine
100 g sugar
3 tsp vanilla sugar
1 banana (mashed)
300 g flour
1 sachet of custard powder (vanilla)
3 tsp baking powder
100 ml water
Preparation:
Mix the margarine until creamy and stir in the sugar and vanilla sugar. Then add the mashed banana and stir in as well.
Mix the flour, custard powder and baking powder and stir into the dough alternately with the water.
Knead everything well and then, using two tablespoons, place the dough in portions on two baking trays lined with baking paper - be sure to leave some space between them, as the pastries will rise during baking! The dough circles can be "rounded" on the tray with a knife to create the classic "American" shape.
Then place the trays in the oven together (fan-assisted) or individually (top/bottom heat) and bake the cakies at 180 degrees (top/bottom heat) or 160 degrees (fan-assisted) for approx. 20 minutes.
Once cooled, decorate the flat sides with an icing mixture (mix powdered sugar with water until a creamy, spreadable mixture is formed). In addition to breathing masks, other ideas are of course also possible.
Depending on the size of the cakies, the amount of dough is enough for about twelve pieces.
