School paramedics help quickly and competently in the event of accidents and injuries at the Taunus Campus.

If a walky-talky device suddenly starts croaking or beeping in a class at Phorms-Gymnasium, this is not a disruption to lessons, but an emergency: the call from the small orange box alerts the Phorms school paramedics on call and then everything usually happens very, very quickly. "Where has something happened? What has happened? ..." You rarely get to hear the other W questions because the school paramedic has usually already left the class by then.

Accidents with minor or sometimes major injuries happen at all schools, every day, time and time again. In order to be able to react quickly and professionally in the event of an accident - and yet not necessarily have to call an ambulance immediately - the Taunus Campus has had school paramedics for more than two years now. This is a group of pupils from different year groups who volunteer in this field. They are always there immediately if something happens and provide first aid.

Close cooperation with the ASB

The Phorms paramedics acquire the skills to help others in addition to their normal lessons. The school works closely with the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) to train the students. Their specialists offer intensive, multi-day training courses on site at the Taunus Campus, in which the participants are comprehensively prepared for their task in theory and practice. Only with the blessing of the instructors are they later allowed to go into action.

In addition to the certainty of being able to call on help from their own school quickly and competently in an emergency, school paramedic training also has an important educational aspect: it develops and strengthens the social skills of the pupils involved. All school paramedics take this plus with them on their future careers, regardless of whether they "only" need a cool pack in an emergency at school or whether the ambulance has to be called in the end.
