The arrival of spring is celebrated in May. It's getting warmer, the birds are singing and the flowers are blooming. And we at the PhorMinis daycare center discover the world of plants and flowers with the children.

Experiment: Planting herbs and flowers

Many plants have flowers, but some do not. Plants produce seeds, from which new plants grow.Providing sensory experiences through handling plants (seeing, smelling, tasting, feeling)Especially today, in times when flowers and herbs are often only known from the supermarket instead of from your own garden, it is all the more exciting for children to observe how such a small seed grows into a real plant.

What our little gardeners need:
A suitable plant container. For this, we take our raised bed and position it outside in the garden. As it is sometimes still a little cold overnight, we place it in the yellow group in the evening. In order for our seeds to thrive, we need good soil. Special potting soil provides the ideal conditions for our tiny little plants, as its special composition makes it very fine-grained and loose, giving the roots air, moisture and the optimum amount of nutrients. We also need seeds, of course. We opted for herb and flower seeds, as this gives us something to harvest, but also something to look at. They include, for example, cress, parsley, chives, marigolds and Turkish dragon's head.

And now it's time to sow, water, wait and be amazed! Take a look at how far our plants have grown in the meantime - we monitor their growth every day and are very excited to see how everything looks when it's ready.

Greetings from the Phorminis nursery!
