The support of science education at the Phorms Taunus Campus has recently taken a big step forward. Thanks to the close collaboration within the Phorms community and the generous support of Analytik Jena & Co. KG, the Phorms Science Centre was presented with a high-quality spectrophotometer. This donation offers students the opportunity to gain deeper insights into the world of chemistry.
The idea for this donation came about through the commitment of Tomi Herceg, chemistry teacher at our Taunus Campus, and Oliver Büttel, father of two children and employee at Analytik Jena Co KG. After Mr Büttel had talked to his daughter about his work, an exchange took place with Mr Herceg about possible support for science lessons. Mr Büttel mentioned the possibility of donating an older but fully functional spectrophotometer - an idea that was happily accepted and implemented.
A device that brings chemistry to life
The spectrophotometer offers students opportunities for learning and has an important role to play in making complex chemical concepts clearer. Especially in a subject like chemistry, which is often characterised by abstract theories, a practical device like this adds great value. Now, students can analyse chemical experiments in even greater depth and better understand scientific processes.
An enrichment for extracurricular projects
In addition to regular lessons, the device also enriches the Phorms Science Center's extracurricular projects. Through experimental work, learners can deepen their practical skills and experience science from a new perspective. The spectrophotometer not only promotes the acquisition of knowledge, but also fosters enthusiasm for scientific subjects.
A heartfelt thank you
The school community at the Phorms Taunus Campus would like to thank Oliver Büttel and Analytik Jena Co KG for this donation. Thanks to this commitment, a significant contribution has been made to the promotion of science education - a commitment that will sustainably strengthen the students' joy and curiosity in experimenting.
The Phorms Taunus Campus is looking forward to using the new spectrophotometer to accompany students on their journey into the world of science and provide them with the best possible resources.
