Before the Easter holidays a very special concert took place at the Phorms Taunus Campus.
Under the theme “What is time?” a wide variety of performances were offered this evening. From a string ensemble, to steel drums, to French rap and a theater performance. Special was also the performance of a piece of music by a professional musician of the Hessian broadcasting company, which enchanted all with the magic sounds of her instrument. The evening was crowned with the sounding of 100 collected metronomes. The performances were presented under the direction and organization of the music teacher Knut Eckhardt.
It was a wonderful and special experience for everyone involved! The school auditorium was full of magical sounds!
We would also like to thank again all the participants, students, teachers, as well as parents for their support!
The concert was organized in honor of Györgi Legitis, who would have celebrated his 100th birthday this year. His compositions can be heard, for example, as film music in the cinema. The performances were organized in cooperation with the ARD Music Week. This year's ARD Music Week is therefore dedicated to the Hungarian composer. With this in mind, ARD announced a so-called Metronome Challenge for schools, the goal of which was to perform Ligeti's work Poéme symphonique with as many metronomes as possible. The goal was 100 metronomes, and our students mastered this task with flying colors. With exactly 100 metronomes, the audience was enchanted.
