On Wednesday, September 4, pupils from Phorms School Steinbach donated the proceeds of a school dance party amounting to 350 euros to the Höchst Children's Hospital's support association.

The school club "Commitee club", including pupils Emilie Berry, 13, and Emely Zengeler, 15, had organized a "school dance party" to mark the end of the school year. They were accompanied by teacher Hannah Zänglein, who supported the school dance committee from the teaching staff. The committee organized a party for potentially 180 children and sold tickets during their breaks and free time. The organizers did so well with their purchases that there was still money left over at the end.

"The money donated will mainly be invested in our comfort boxes," says a delighted Johannes Eisen, senior physician at the Clinic for Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine and Chairman of the Children's Hospital Support Association at Klinikum Frankfurt Höchst. These "comforter boxes" help children get over the unpleasant examinations. If they are particularly brave, they can take a small toy surprise out of the boxes to "comfort" them. There are lots of fun toys to choose from, such as small cars, bracelets, squeaky ducks and much more. Phorms is a privately run bilingual school in Steinbach im Taunus, which teaches children to be independent from nursery school right up to grammar school, so that great projects such as a school dance party for 180 kids from year 7 and year 8 are organized.

The pupils are also delighted to have done something so selfless and helpful on their own initiative with so little help and are looking forward to the next "School Dance Party" with great anticipation.
