On Thursday, November 8, the traditional St. Martin's Day celebration took place at the Taunus Campus with our nursery children and the children from Reception and Year 1. At 5 p.m., all the children gathered in the school playground with their parents and their self-made lanterns. A large bonfire was already burning there. All the families gathered around the fire and, led by Regina Meyer, sang St. Martin's songs together, which the children had previously practiced diligently in their German lessons. In the meantime, the Steinbach youth fire department had also arrived, lighting the way into and through the Steinbach forest with torches. The children continued to sing merrily during the lantern procession in the forest and proudly carried their lanterns. Back on the school grounds, children, parents, staff and the fire department enjoyed hot drinks, hot dogs and buns.
