Nature experiences

Outdoor education - learning Math in the forest

Discover Mathematics in a new way outdoors in nature. During our outdoor education, children explore mathematical concepts in a playful and hands-on manner. They measure angles on tree trunks, identify geometric shapes found in nature, and calculate using natural materials.

The forest becomes a living classroom. This type of learning combines physical activity with acquiring knowledge and demonstrates that mathematics is much more than just numbers on paper. It makes lessons varied, tangible, and simply enjoyable.

Nature experiences

Visiting the petting zoo

To provide our primary school students with a special experience, we regularly organize visits from a mobile petting zoo on campus. These visits allow the students to interact closely with animals, expand their knowledge of different species, and deepen their understanding of nature.

Such experiences inspire curiosity and a sense of responsibility, while enriching the school day with hands-on learning opportunities.

Nature experiences

Our school garden with its own bees

To teach the children about the importance of nature and environmental protection, we regularly engage in exciting projects such as "Wild Bee Week." The children learn about the fascinating world of bees and why these small pollinators are so important for our ecosystem.

Through creative and interactive activities, from building nesting aids to making observations, they experience nature up close. This fosters sustainable awareness and inspires enthusiasm for protecting the environment from an early age.

Nature experiences

Personality development

One of our main focuses is experiential education. Shared experiences in nature support each child’s personal growth and help develop social skills.

A variety of outdoor activities foster team spirit among the children and encourage every individual, with the support of the group, to explore their willingness to take risks and embrace adventure.

Nature experiences

Regular herb hike

During our regular herb hikes, children explore the rich variety of local plants and learn to identify which herbs are edible, medicinal, or uniquely fragrant.

These hands-on experiences in nature engage their senses, deepen their understanding of sustainable practices, and foster a genuine appreciation for the natural world around them. Through playful discovery, children find out how herbs can be used in cooking, natural remedies, and daily life. This immersive learning connects them closely with nature while inspiring curiosity and respect for the environment right on their doorstep.

Nature experiences

Trips to the Opel Zoo

Visits to the Opel Zoo give children the unique chance to observe animals up close and gain insights into their natural habitats and behaviors.

These excursions foster a deep understanding of nature and species conservation, allowing children to experience biological connections firsthand. The zoo serves not only as a valuable learning environment but also as a place where children can sharpen their observation skills and witness the rich diversity of the animal kingdom. Experiences like these nurture environmental awareness and bring lessons to life in a meaningful and engaging way.

Events

Our own book fairs

Reading creates connections not only within our school community but also with the wider world. Our annual Book Fair brings the joy of reading directly to the children.

They have the opportunity to explore a wide range of books in both English and German, discover new favorite stories and select their own reading material. A special bonus is that a portion of the proceeds from the book sales goes directly towards enriching our school library with new titles. This way everyone benefits from fostering a lifelong love of reading.

Events

Reading competitions

We place great emphasis on reading skills and expressiveness, so we are especially proud of our primary school children’s successes in reading competitions. Participation gives them the opportunity to develop their language abilities, build self-confidence and share their love of reading with others.

These competitions not only foster a passion for literature but also help cultivate important presentation and communication skills. Winning a reading competition is more than just an award. It is a valuable experience that supports our primary school children throughout their educational journey.

Events

Federal Youth Games

Sporting activities are an integral part of everyday school life. During the annual National Youth Games Week, our children have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in events such as sprinting, long jump, throwing and endurance running.

These activities not only improve physical fitness but also nourish team spirit and a love of movement. Through active participation, the children build healthy self-confidence and learn how to set and achieve personal goals. Experiences like these play an important role in the holistic development of our children.ng.

Events

Summer party and lantern parade

Our school places great importance on community events that build a sense of belonging and enrich everyday school life. The annual summer party offers children, parents and teachers the chance to come together and celebrate in a relaxed atmosphere. Alongside a variety of activities and culinary treats, the focus is on socializing and building connections. Traditional events such as the lantern parade also encourage a strong community spirit and allow the children to actively experience cultural traditions. These occasions help strengthen social bonds and create lasting memories.
