Our Secondary School in Steinbach im Taunus
Educating with vision and responsibility

Welcome to our private bilingual Secondary School in Steinbach (Taunus)! Students grow up in a German-English environment that not only strengthens their ability to speak English at a near-native level but also fosters intercultural awareness and future-ready skills. With a clear focus on academic excellence and individual personal development, we prepare our students for a successful future.

Strong values and language skills from Secondary School to the Abitur and beyond

At our Secondary School, students are not only thoroughly prepared for the Abitur, but also for a confident and self-determined future. Why families choose our bilingual Secondary School

1

STEM focus

STEM subjects play a central role at our school. We foster scientific thinking through hands-on experiments, academic competitions and educational excursions. With access to state-of-the-art technology and interactive learning methods, we prepare children for a digital and science-driven future.

2

Bilingual education

Our teaching staff work consistently in their native language – either German or English. By the time they graduate, children are fluent in both languages and able to express themselves confidently and competently in written and spoken form. In Year 10, we offer IGCSE examinations, which provide a valuable advantage when applying to international universities.

3

Independent learning

We place great emphasis on nurturing individual talents and promoting independent learning. Through creative teaching approaches and interdisciplinary project work, we help children develop key skills for the future.

4

Study and career guidance

Our careers and study guidance programme offers valuable insights into the world of work. Children benefit from company visits, expert talks, international careers fairs and two internships. A social-ecological internship in Year 9 raises awareness of people in need at the margins of society. A second internship in the upper secondary years builds understanding of economic and social contexts in a globalised world.

5

Personal development as part of the curriculum

We see personal development as a key component of a child’s educational journey. Our curriculum includes training in teamwork, public speaking, identifying personal strengths and developing social confidence.

6

No lesson cancellations

We place great importance on uninterrupted learning. A reliable timetable and professional substitutes ensure that lessons continue smoothly, even when regular teachers are absent.

Natural sciences and computer science firmly integrated into the curriculum

Our children begin studying biology in Year 5 and expand their scientific knowledge with physics in Year 6 and chemistry in Year 7. Computer science is introduced as an elective subject and becomes a regular part of the curriculum from secondary school onwards. In the upper secondary school, students deepen their understanding of two natural sciences through basic or advanced courses. This step-by-step approach promotes in-depth subject knowledge, research-based learning and digital skills.

    STEM

At Phorms Frankfurt, STEM subjects play a central role in our curriculum. Our students explore scientific concepts through practical experiments, research projects and real-world challenges. With the support of modern technology and interactive teaching methods, they develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills that prepare them for a rapidly changing digital and scientific future. Our STEM programme encourages curiosity, creativity and teamwork, laying a strong foundation for future academic and career success.

We educate for the world

Respectful cooperation, openness to the world and active individual participation form the decisive basis of a free and tolerant society.

With a wealth of additional offerings in the natural sciences, languages, music and art, we prepare our secondary school students optimally for the global challenges of the future. We enable them to understand the world in its cultural and linguistic diversity, with its local characteristics and in a global context. With us, they learn to think and act independently, to question critically, to develop, to stand up for liberal values and to treat each other with respect. "

Our school clothing

What truly matters is who you are, not what you wear

At our school we value personality over clothing. Wearing a uniform fosters a strong sense of community creates a positive atmosphere and supports children in growing beyond trends and backgrounds. Our modern campus collection offers versatile pieces that can be combined in many ways making the uniform anything but boring.

Frequently asked questions
about our bilingual Secondary School

  • Which school leaving certificates do you offer?

As a state-recognised school, we offer the Abitur as the highest school-leaving qualification. Students can also achieve the Realschulabschluss and the Fachhochschulreife at our school.

  • Can my child transfer from a public school to your school at any time?

Our teaching follows the Hessian curriculum, so a transfer in either direction is possible at any time, depending on the child’s language skills.

  • How is the fluctuation in the classes?

We mainly teach children from local families and therefore have a very stable student body.

  • What does my child eat at kindergarten and school?

Our meals are balanced, regional and certified organic. Every day, trained chefs from our catering partner FPS prepare fresh meals in our school kitchen. Children can choose between two dishes – one of which is always vegetarian – and help themselves to a variety of fresh raw vegetables at the salad bar. Fresh water is available throughout the day. The menu typically includes fish once a week and organic poultry or beef twice a week. As shared meals are an important part of our school culture, children eat together with the teaching staff. We encourage good table manners and respectful behaviour. After lunch, children have plenty of time to play and move around.

  • How many students are in a class?

Our standard class size in Secondary School is 24 students.

  • Is there school clothing?

We offer a campus collection with a range of stylish and modern clothing items. These can be easily combined with personal clothes, allowing children to express their individual style. Wearing school clothing is not compulsory. You can order school clothing online at www.phorms-shop.de.

  • Which foreign languages are taught?

In addition to English, we also offer other languages such as Spanish, French and Chinese.

  • Can children with special needs also be admitted?

While we offer individualised support within the framework of our school concept, we are not a special needs institution. If you have questions about your child’s individual requirements, please contact our Admissions Team for a personal consultation.
